Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

Private Opinions offers two types of subscriptions: platform subscriptions for creators and member subscriptions for community members. This policy covers cancellation and refund terms for both.

2. Platform Subscriptions (Creators)

Creators subscribe to a monthly plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro) to operate their community on the Platform.

  • You may cancel your platform subscription at any time from your admin dashboard
  • After cancellation, you retain full access to your plan features through the end of your current billing period
  • No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods
  • Your community remains accessible to existing members through the end of the billing period

3. Member Subscriptions

Members subscribe to community tiers set by each creator (e.g., Member, Circle).

  • You may cancel your membership at any time through the Stripe billing portal
  • After cancellation, you retain access to the community through the end of your current billing period
  • No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods
  • You may resubscribe at any time after cancellation

4. How to Cancel

Creators: Go to your community admin dashboard and manage your subscription from the billing section.

Members: Click “Manage Subscription” from your profile page to access the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel or update your subscription.

5. Refund Exceptions

While we generally do not offer refunds for subscription fees already charged, we may consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the following situations:

  • You were charged in error due to a technical issue
  • A community you subscribed to was terminated by the Platform before your billing period ended
  • Duplicate charges resulting from a system error

Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge in question.

6. Disputes

If you believe a charge is unauthorized or incorrect, please contact us before initiating a dispute with your bank or card issuer. We are committed to resolving billing issues promptly. Contacting us first helps avoid the lengthy chargeback process and ensures a faster resolution.

7. Free Tiers

Some communities offer free membership tiers (e.g., Founder access). Free tiers do not involve any charges and are not subject to this refund policy.
